The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has partnered with Sweet Crude Newspapers to organize the first edition of the Nigerian Content Investment Forum (NCIF).
The Forum will hold at the sidelines of the 2015 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) on May 4th2015, in Houston, Texas, USA and will help the Board promote manufacturing in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.
According to the Board, the NCIF will create a platform for fruitful engagement and collaboration between Nigerian Oil and Gas Small and Medium Enterprises and Original Equipment Manufacturers and is expected to culminate in the mentoring of the SMEs by the OEMs and local manufacture of key oil and gas components.
Throwing further light on the NCIF, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Engr. Ernest Nwapa explained that the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) had always been an exhibition where Nigerians go to have a good time without an active engagement with international investors that will have an interest in coming to Nigeria.
According to him, “In next year’s OTC, we are going there with a different idea; we are going with a focus program where people will move ahead of the OTC and isolate interested investors who have the pedigree for going outside America to invest.
These are the kind of companies that we are looking for, put them together and bring Nigerians to meet these companies who have succeeded even on their own to show them that there are Nigerians who have done this type of business before and if you work with them there are opportunities.”
