Nigerian Agip concludes training for 15 youths

In fulfilment of its commitments to Nigerian Content Human Capacity Development initiatives, the Nigerian Agip Energy Limited (NAE), a subsidiary of ENI recently concluded the training of 15 youths on manifold construction and design.

The exercises were conducted as project based trainings on the back of the supply of pipeline end manifold (PLEM) 7 project which was executed by Union Energy Ltd for Nigerian Agip.

The training lasted for six months during which 10 trainees were exposed to instructions on engineering design and fabrication engineering while five persons were trained on welding and fabrication.

Speaking at the close out ceremony which held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State recently, the Nigerian Content Manager, NAE, Mr. John Ndukauba commended the Federal Government for enacting the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, noting that the implementation of the Act has added immense value to the oil and gas industry and provided opportunity for young Nigerians to build capacity in different areas of the industry.

While charging the trainees to use the skills they had acquired to make a difference in the society, Ndukauba commended the training company, Shepherd Engineering for retaining two of the trainees who excelled in the course of the programme.

In his remarks, the Acting Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Mr. Patrick Daziba Obah commended the Nigerian Agip Energy for ensuring that the youths received qualitative training, adding that NAE had become a veritable partner of the Board in the implementation of the Nigerian Content Act

The Acting Executive Secretary who was represented by the Supervisor, Capacity Building, Mr. Augustine Timbiri further explained the mandate and initiatives of the Board and advised the trainees to upload their details on the NCDMB portal as they were trained on important skills needed in the oil and gas industry.
