NCDMB, CypherCrescent Launch Digital Training for Young Undergraduates

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with CypherCrescent Limited, has announced an upcoming digital research capacity development programme designed to equip undergraduate students in Nigeria with modern technology skills, advanced research methods, and industry-relevant digital competencies.

Students of science, engineering and technology disciplines in public universities, who are at 300 and 400 level, including those currently on industrial training (IT), are eligible to apply for registration, using the contact address ng@cyphercrescent.com or www.cyphercrescent.com.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NCDMB said the programme, themed ‘Catch-the-Researcher-Young Programme (CRYP), is created to prepare young talents for a future of innovation, digital transformation, and advanced technology development through structured virtual learning, expert mentorship, and practical applied research experience.

Programme highlights include Virtual Training and Digital Laboratories; Solution Development Mentorship from Industry Experts; Data Analytics and Cloud Computing Training; Digital Transformation; Research Project Development Support, and Innovation and Incubation Opportunities. Students enrolled will receive monthly stipends.

Among potential benefits to participants are a strong foundation in research methodology, practical skills in digital tools and data analysis, field-specific competencies aligned with science, engineering and technology domains, and preparation for postgraduate studies and industry-related problem solving.

Prospective participants are required to be members of student-related associations and registered on the NOGIC JQS (Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualifications System) portal operated by the NCDMB. A laptop and Internet Connection are also required, and such students must have a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.5 and above in the last academic session.

Preferred academic fields for the programme include Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, Data Science, Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.

The deadline for registration is June 15, 2026.
