The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has donated desktop computers, computer textbooks and workbooks to the Bayelsa State Post-Primary Schools Board (PPSB) as part of its capacity development initiatives. The items will be distributed to secondary schools in the state.
The General Manager, Capacity Development Division, NCDMB, Engr. Ikpomosa Oviasu was represented at the event in Yenagoa by the Chief Officer, Capacity Building Division, Mr. Augustine Timbiri. He emphasized the importance of computer education, particularly in our world that is driven completely by information communication technology.
The donations were received by Engr I.E Digitemie on behalf of the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Post-Primary Schools Board. He thanked the NCDMB for its commitment towards improving science education in the state and encouraged the Board to do more in support of education in the state.
The items donated include 752 computer textbooks, 752 computer workbooks and 32 desktop computers.
NCDMB provides several other institutional support to education in Bayelsa State, including the annual NCDMB/NTA Science Competition for secondary schools and career counselling for secondary school students.

The programs and projects of NCDMB for Nigeria and the Niger Delta region in particular cannot be over emphasized, however, I will like to ask if such gestures have been extended to Cross River State central or northern senatorial zones. If not, are they plans in the nearest future?
