The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has concluded plans to sponsor the training of young Nigerian Geoscientists.
The pilot programme is expected to train 50 graduates who will be involved in exploration of hydrocarbon deposits and reservoir management.
The training which is billed to start in September was conceived to address the shortage of local capacity in the oil and gas industry, especially in a key area like geosciences.
The list of participants for the five-month long programme was drawn from the Board’s electronic platform-Nigerian Content Joint Qualification System (NOGICJQS).
Two renowned training companies, Laser Engineering and Resource Consultant Limited have been selected to provide the training in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
