The SERVICOM Unit of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has been inaugurated with a charge handed to the newly inducted SERVICOM staff of the Board to ensure effective service delivery to stakeholders.

Speaking in his welcome address, the Acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Patrick Dazibah Obah represented by the Coordinator, Legal Services Directorate, Mrs. Rose Chukwuonwe stated that the SERVICOM Unit in the Board will monitor effective service delivery to stakeholders in conformity with the core values of Passion, Professionalism, Patriotism, Integrity, Creativity and Team Spirit. The Acting Executive Secretary also said that the Presidency is interested in the SERVICOM group as they have branches in all Governmental organizations.

In an address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Dr. (Mrs.) Jamila Shuara who was represented by the Director, Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, SERVICOM, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. E.A. Eneh stated that the inauguration and workshop is part of a strategic effort to keep the SERVICOM Unit abreast of issues that are very critical in change management, given that they are the drivers of the current administration’s change agenda in the organization. According to her, the Petroleum sector is constantly in the eye of the storm because of service failure and being the major source of revenue for the country, SERVICOM came on board as remedy to the rampant failures in service delivery adding that the importance of training and retraining staff of the ministry and parastatals cannot be overemphasized.

Also speaking at the event, the representative of the National Coordinator, SERVICOM Office, Presidency, Mr. Afolabi Joseph stated that the SERVICOM Unit should be headed by a Nodal Officer to be nominated from the management cadre. He added that the SERVICOM Unit is expected to be autonomous and report directly to the Executive Secretary, noting that the Nodal Officer should attend all management meetings where decisions on service delivery would be discussed.

Highpoints of the inauguration were the induction of the SERVICOM staff of the Board, presentation on Leadership and Change Management by a resource person from SERVICOM Office, Presidency, Mrs. Lucy Zach-Ukoh and decoration of the Acting Executive Secretary and newly inducted SERVICOM staff of the Parastatal SERVICOM Unit (PSU) of the Board by the Director, Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, SERVICOM, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. E. A. Eneh.

A Sensitization Workshop for staff of the Board followed thereafter with remarks made by the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Dr. (Mrs.) Jamila Shuara on the essence of the workshop and presentations made on Work Ethics & Values in Public Service as well as Managing Leadership.
